I'm Daniel van Benthuysen, an artist, graphic designer, art director, director of design, journalism professor and freelance writer. As you can see from the self-portrait at left, I don't take myself too seriously. And in fact, I enjoy painting portraits of others who feel likewise. I am in my mid-fifties and live with my wife, Renee, in Huntington, New York, about 35 miles east of NYC. Far enough away to be able to enjoy a big old house and the greenery of the suburbs and close enough to NYC to enjoy the notable goings on in the center of the art world.
